Horatio worked with Sheldon to figure out how to distill terpenes — particularly d-limonene — from the bubble water leftover after ice water extraction. The concept involves collecting the aromatic compounds that dissolve into the wash water rather than remaining on the trichome heads, then distilling them back into a usable form. This was considered groundbreaking at the time as it addressed the significant terpene loss inherent in water hash production.
